Crossdress Lovers vs Taimi: which suits crossdressers and admirers?

Portrait of a crossdresser in evening wear. Illustrative photo, not a member.

Taimi often appears when people search for a crossdressing dating app, which makes sense: it is a well-known LGBTQ+ dating app with a strong focus on inclusion. For crossdressers and their admirers, though, the question is whether a broad app or a focused site will get you to the right people sooner. This page compares the two. Our Taimi details come from its site as it stood on October 16, 2026. We do not link to rival sites, and we have left out claims we could not check.

The short verdict

Taimi describes itself as a fully inclusive LGBTQ+ dating app covering the whole spectrum, with a paid premium tier. It lists strong privacy features. Crossdress Lovers is a dating site specifically for crossdressers, admirers and couples. If you identify with the wider LGBTQ+ community and want a large, varied app, Taimi is a strong choice. If you are specifically looking for crossdressers, or for admirers who appreciate crossdressing, a focused site removes a lot of searching.

What Taimi says it offers

As of October 16, 2026, Taimi's homepage describes:

  • An LGBTQ+ dating app for lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer and other identities, available on Google Play and the App Store
  • Stealth mode, which it says lets you use the app incognito and share data only with users you have liked
  • Screenshot blocking on profiles, to help protect people from harassment or being outed
  • Private cards, for sharing pictures and thoughts only with members you approve
  • Identity verification during profile creation, and community rules on behaviour
  • Paid premium features sold in the app

It also describes itself as a social platform as well as a dating app.

Taimi may suit you if:

Our plans next to Taimi's tiers

What Taimi does well

Its privacy features are thoughtful. Stealth mode and screenshot blocking address real fears about being outed, and private cards give users control over who sees what. Its inclusive approach means trans, non-binary and questioning people can feel at home. For anyone who wants an app rather than a website, Taimi's polish is a genuine strength.

Where Crossdress Lovers differs

Focus. On a broad app, crossdressers are one group among many, and admirers may need to search harder to find them. On Crossdress Lovers, everyone is there because of crossdressing.

No app to install. Crossdress Lovers runs in your phone's browser. For people who share devices or prefer discretion, that can be an advantage. The wider app question is covered in our phone dating guide.

Admirers welcomed explicitly. Many crossdressers want to meet admirers specifically. We write guides for both sides, including the admirer's guide.

Published prices. Every plan is listed above.

Identity and language

Crossdressers are not all trans, and trans people are not all crossdressers. A broad LGBTQ+ app is built around many identities; a crossdresser site is built around a particular expression. Neither is better. That comes down to your identity and the people you want to find. If you are exploring your gender identity, an inclusive app may feel more natural. When dressing is something you do rather than who you are, a niche site tends to fit. Our self-acceptance guide discusses these distinctions.

Switching tips

  1. If you use both, keep different photos and usernames on each.
  2. On a broad app, say plainly in your profile that you crossdress or that you are an admirer, so the right people find you.
  3. On Crossdress Lovers, focus your profile on what you want from dating. See writing a profile that gets replies.
  4. Check privacy settings on every platform you use.

How the two might fit together

Some crossdressers use a broad app to stay connected with the wider LGBTQ+ community, make friends and explore their identity, while using a focused site for dating. Others find that a broad app's features suit them perfectly and never need anything else. If you are unsure, consider what frustrates you most about dating right now. If it is privacy, both offer tools worth trying. If it is spending too long finding the right people, focus usually helps more than features.

Related comparisons

Taimi is one of two apps we compare. The other, Translr, is narrower and publishes its US prices. TS Dates is a website with a trans focus, and general dating apps raise the disclosure question in its sharpest form. Whichever you choose, the privacy steps in our discretion article apply, from phone lock settings to separate photos. For in-person options, see groups, venues and events. The comparisons index lists the rest.

Finding the right people on a broad app

If you do use a broad LGBTQ+ app, make your profile do the filtering. Say in the first line that you are a crossdresser, or an admirer of crossdressers, and describe the kind of connection you want. Use any interest tags the app offers. Expect to message more people before you find a match who is looking for the same thing, and be patient with questions from people who are curious but kind. On a focused site, that filtering is already done for you.

Some people also find that a smaller, focused community feels calmer and more personal than a very large app.

Taimi pricing, size and safety in more detail (checked October 16, 2026)

We checked Taimi's US App Store listing and its billing terms on October 16, 2026:

  • Member base: the listing publishes its own worldwide member figure, which we cannot verify.
  • Seller and age rating: sold by Social Impact Inc.; age rating 18+.
  • In-app purchases (US store, USD): Bronze at $0.99, $3.99 and $4.99; Silver at $3.49 and $11.99; Gold at $8.49, $9.99, $21.99 and $34.99; and a Gold Subscription at $16.99. Since the listing does not tie each price to a plan length, we have not converted them.
  • Paid features: its billing terms describe Taimi Premium as a mix of permanent and consumable features, such as rainbow likes, rollbacks, coins and gifts.
  • Cancelling: the billing terms state that deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a Premium subscription. You have to cancel through the app or your App Store or Google Play account.
  • Safety: as noted above, the website lists stealth mode, screenshot blocking on profiles, private cards and identity checks at profile creation.

Best for: LGBTQ+ people who want a large, polished app with privacy features, and who are happy to manage subscriptions through an app store.

Go with us if: you want a smaller, focused audience of crossdressers and admirers, plan lengths you can read before you pay, and nothing to uninstall.
